The good ole' Fitfam

The human body is designed to be worked. Everything from our build on the outside to our mechanisms on the inside suggests that exercise is meant to be part of the human lifestyle.

Everybody wants to be fit and healthy, but unfortunately in the modern day world exercise is not on the top of everybody’s agenda; and it’s not surprising!
It seems as though the latter part of the population has ended up in a similar position to me; sat at a desk for 8 hours a day. After a gruelling office day, you’re tired, you have the kids to pick up from school, you have cleaning to do, you have friends to see, you have commitments. All of the above are not reasons not to exercise, they are simply excuses.

You make excuses because it is human nature to reject a task that is difficult. Exercise is hard. It requires discipline and focus, and intense exercise can also be uncomfortable.

What I have found, is that there is ALWAYS an answer to an excuse. It may not be immediately obvious to you, but the fact is, if you TRULY want to achieve an incredible physique and be in excellent health, then you will find an answer to your excuse yourself.

This is where 2 important words come in, motivation and inspiration. It is so essential that you have these 2 things to find the answer to your excuse. The ability to go and carry out exercise is more to do with your mental strength rather than your physical strength. Once you have your mind set in the right place, your body will follow.

Personally, I found my inspiration through the “fitfam” on Instagram. The fitness community on Instagram is over flowing with support and encouragement from fellow fitness enthusiasts. It is literally like a huge family made up of people of all ages and of ALL abilities who motivate and push each other to achieve their fitness goals every day! You do not have to be super muscular and workout for hours every day to be involved in this community. 1000’s of people at the beginning of their fitness journey join every day… and I recommend if you’re not already involved, that you join too! :)
As Instagram is a app for images, it is also a brilliant way to track your progress and use it as a diary to track achievements.

I use my own Instagram page to try to motivate people who are stuck behind a desk to live a healthy lifestyle, and encourage people to never give up on their goals. I also post recipes to try and encourage healthy eating, and bring a positive attitude toward getting FIT.
